Plantation shutters do three jobs at once: light control, privacy and airflow. Tilt the louvres and you can have the window open with the street shut out, which suits Cairns living better than most window treatments.
Material choice matters here more than the style. We use moisture-resistant and aluminium options in bathrooms, kitchens and anywhere exposed to sun and humidity, and reserve timber for dry, shaded rooms.
