The Tablelands cover a lot of ground and a lot of different conditions. Ravenshoe and Herberton get properly cold and windy, Malanda and Millaa Millaa get the rain, and Yungaburra and Lake Eacham sit somewhere in between with a strong tourism and short-stay presence.
Because the region is spread out, we plan Tablelands work in blocks — measures grouped together, then installs grouped together. It keeps travel costs down and means you get a firm date rather than a maybe.

Wind exposure
Ridge lines through Ravenshoe and Herberton see serious wind. It rules out some external blind types and changes the fixing detail on everything else.
High rainfall pockets
Malanda and Millaa Millaa are among the wettest places in the country. Drainage, sealing and hardware selection all matter more than they do on drier sites.
Wildlife and stock
Gates need to keep more than people out. Ground clearance, infill spacing and gate weight all get set with the property in mind.

- Short-stay and holiday properties around Yungaburra and Lake Eacham need access that can be handed over without cutting keys.
